Farewell Blockbuster


It is the end of an era. Dish Network, who acquired Blockbuster in 2011 for $320M, announced Wednesday it will close all of the video rental chain’s remaining U.S. stores. Blockbuster patrons can also said good-bye to its DVD-by-mail service. The former rental giant, who was presumably dwarfed by changes in the distribution landscape, will shut its doors by early next year.
