NFL Network Escapes Penalty in Logo Litigation

The 4th Circuit Court of Appeals decided on Tuesday not to penalize the NFL network for use of an artist’s design to create the Baltimore Ravens’ old logo. Judge James Wilkinson III wrote in his opinion that the appellant went too far in an attempt to enjoin the football league from using his logos in videos and photos. In short, the judge concluded the NFL’s use of the logo was transformative and insubstantial.

Do you agree with the judge’s fair use analysis and conclusion in this case?
